Summary/Abstract: Today’s turbulent environment is not easy for family businesses. It necessitates the use of a variety of concepts and methods of influence on the environment. There are various solutions which could be used to achieve a competitive advantage. However, practice shows that they do not always have an ethical dimension. In building the company's competitive position it is also helpful to implement actions in the area of social responsibility. The aim of the article is to characterize the concept of corporate social responsibility and to indicate the benefits that are associated with socially responsible activities.
