The Protection of Classified Information During Preparation and Conduct of War Operations

Summary/Abstract: The protection of classified information from unauthorized persons is one of the most important factors that significantly impact national security. The goal of this paper is to present this issue as well as to define relevant Polish legislation drafted to provide adequate protection of classified information (i.e. acts, directives and instructions). The author has analysed this issue in terms of preparation of the war operations as well as their conduct. The paper also highlights the key threats to classified information, and discusses the organization of secret registries at the Ministry of National Defence and at the other organizations.
