Summary/Abstract: The current contribution aims to review several stone battle-axes discovered in Romania, as wellas to present some new discoveries or previously unpublished artefacts. Although the current Romanian literatureon this subject is quite vast, specific and narrow typologies on stone battle-axes are rare. Therefore, a newtype of battle-axe is proposed, seeking an improved morphology, chronology and distribution for the artefactsincluded in this category. The archetype is represented by an axe discovered in a Middle Bronze Age context, in aMonteoru grave at Poiana. Some remarks regarding the potential functionality are also presented.
