Summary/Abstract: The key category of the text is memory. The ability to sustain relatively constant story about “I” is treated nowadays as the essence of our identity. Memory is its condition, the basis and the part of it at the same time. The text focuses on the consideration on the category of memory, combining it with thinking over temporal orientation (our attitude to time), and also with consideration on the role that memory plays in the process of building a sense of ontological security in the modern world.
