Summary/Abstract: North Atlantic Treaty Organization has initiated, in 2009, the process of drafting and adopting a New Strategic Concept that will allow it to adapt to permanent changes of the security environment’s characteristics. This ambitious project can determine the future of the Alliance both opportunities and challenges that cover a wide range: from cooperation among allies on the one hand, and between NATO and other great actors of the international arena, on the other hand, to the issues of budgetary allocations for defence and even the ones of migration and public opinion. The stakes are significant: the justification for the claim that NATO is the key to Euro-Atlantic and world’s security.
