Summary/Abstract: The article reflects on events surrounding the adoption of the new Code of Ethics for Legal Advisers and foregoing the opportunity to introduce measures creating information barriers (known as “Chinese Walls”) to the practice of legal advisers in law firms comprised of several lawyers, in the context of avoiding conflicts of interest. The author discusses the issue from a historical perspective, by confronting the regulations of the new Code of Ethics for Legal Advisers with the provisions of the Code previously in force.
