Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the relationship of Serbian and Croatian oral literature collecting practice and folkloristics to oral literary creation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, particularly to Bosniak oral literature during the 19th century. This is a process of inclusion of Bosniak oral literature within the frameworks of Serbian and Croatian oral literature traditions, which is a part of a wider process of „nationalizing of Muslims“ during this time. This has resulted in significant consequences for the status and identity of Bosniak oral literature in the 19th century, but also later, until today
