Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses one of the most troubling and abominable subjects in the history of the world – The Holocaust, and its representation in fiction, examining Thomas Keneally’s Schindler’s Ark, a novel seen as an artistic response to the atrocities of the genocide, to the inhumanity of humanity. Keneally’s work reflects the origins of this almost unaccountable, unbearable and unimaginable phenomenon, as well as the entire program of severe measures and murderous actions took by the Third Reich against the European Jew, the racially inferior, the Other.
