Summary/Abstract: From the linguistic meaning and the historical use of terms, theology arises that this term denotes theoretically systematized learning and reflection on God and his relationship to the world. The term and notion of Islamic theology is contested in the traditional Islamic milieu because, in traditional Islamic sciences, there is simply no such form of theological teaching as existed by Christians. The function of theology was occupied by KELAM, which developed, among other things, under the influence of Greek philosophy. Thus, Kelam, according to some Islamic and foreign scholars, is equivalent to what is regarded by Christians and others as theology, and rightly, in a sense, it can be said that Kelam is Islamic theology.
