Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the author points out some of the problems that have occurred in the Slovak legal system in relation to law and land (i.e. land law). The paper also refers to the infamous affairs of recent years that have stirred up a social and professional debate on the need to introduce radical normative changes in the current Slovak legislation. The fundamental problems are the absence of the principle of superficies solo cedit, the practical access to land itself and the disruption of linear development of legal system between 1948 and 1989
