Summary/Abstract: Among the changes survened lately in the South-East Europe it is also the fact that Romania joined NATO and is knocking at EU’s door. As a NATO member, Romania benefits from security and offers security. Its geographical position, the fact that the European transport axes cross over its territory as well as its remarkable resources, turn Romania into an attractive country both for the Alliance and for the EU than ensures, in turn, conditions for prosperity, peace that need to be achieved by a balance between Challenges and Opportunities.
