Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results of a new research at the Middle Palaeolithic cave site of Buzdujeni in the north-west of Moldova. Much attention is given to the description of stratigraphy uncovered in the rear part of the cave in 2017 and to the characteristic of faunal remains and stone artifacts found in layers 2—8. The study challenges the idea that the industry of Buzdujeni belongs to the so called Denticulate Mousterian, stressing instead its Micoquian affinities such as presence of various bifacial tools. The analysis of the available radiocarbon dates, including the ones obtained in 2019, suggests a possibility that most of the site layers could have formed during MIS-3 period.
