The “Image” in Blow-Up – the Problem of Focalisation

Summary/Abstract: Amidst the countless “images in a film”, which in some way problematise the “film image”, special place belongs to the famous sequence of a photographic reconstruction of events in Antonioni’s Blow-Up (1966). In my brief analysis I attempt to draw attention to the part played in this construction by the most “visual” among the narratological categories, namely, “focalisation”.
