Scientific research of the fabrics, an essential part of reconditioning patrimonial objects

Summary/Abstract: The essay emphasizes the role of the preservation – restoration activity that aims to keep and transmit not only the simple, physical existence of the patrimony objects, but of the entire ensemble of stored information. The paper work includes:  An historical – documentary presentation of the festive Saxon costume;  The context in which the polychrome handkerchief caught in the girdle, from the peasant costume was replaced with an industrial textile;  The technical study of the piece in the museum (the fabrication technology, the structure of the weaving, the nature and morphology of the fibers, the fringes technology).
