Summary/Abstract: The aim of the following analysis is to update academic knowledge about failures of modern asymmetric and irregular conflicts. Basing upon statistical data up to 1998, authors briefly analyse recent interventions and conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq in order to draw conclusions and provide some suggestions on the matter of conducting modern irregular warfare.
