Summary/Abstract: The profession of legal adviser is viewed as a freelance occupation, as well as a profession of public trust. A more in-depth analysis of the term ‘freelancer,’ e.g. in the context of the Code of Commercial Companies, leads to the conclusion that the term is merely a myth devoid of any normative content. Therefore, the question arises as to whether legal adviser is a freelance occupation. Without a doubt, legal adviser is a regulated profession, although it does not involve conducting a regulated activity. Finally, as stipulated in many pieces of legislation, a legal adviser is an entrepreneur. However, the question as to whether this is always the case may be posed. Another question with regard to this profession concerns its status as a profession of public trust. Undeniably, the legal status of legal advisor is multifaceted.
