ISMET MUJEZINOVIC – TIMELINE OF AN ARTIST

Summary/Abstract: When it comes to the visual arts in our and the countries of the region, the name of the great, and many would agree, the greatest painter in this region - Ismet Mujezinovic is indispensable. He created: drawings, prints, watercolors, oil paintings ... The International Gallery of Portraits in Tuzla today has more than two thousand mentioned works of art, which is a major part of his artistic work, and in 2013 the Ismet Mujezinovic Collection of paintings was proclaimed a movable heritage , a national monument. A small part of the work is preserved by the family, then by various galleries, museums and private collections. This paper deals with the character and work of Ismet Mujezinovic: his childhood, his boyhood, his time at the Academy, his stay in Paris, his relationship with his wife Marija, the WW2 period, the period spent in Tuzla, the awards won, what others told about Ismet, some of his anecdotes ... In fact, this work provides a brief insight into the time machine of an artist - Ismet Mujezinovic.
