Summary/Abstract: This article assesses the validity of Webra's idea that Protestantism supported the development of capitalism (“Spirit of Capitalism “). It seeks to assess whether Catholicism was his main obstacle. The evaluation shows that the development of capitalism was associated more with the rise of education and the development of the Renaissance. The author tries to overlap the view of the Church by the prism of our time. And also evaluate the environment of Central Europe, where transforming/ emerging economies are faced with common and considerable problems to deal with their past.
