TOWARDS AN AUTHENTIC AND DEFINITIVE EDITION OF MAK DIZDAR’S STONE SLEEPER

Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the problem of preparing an authentic and definitive edition of Mak Dizdar's Stone Sleeper. Namely, Stone Sleeper was published in three different versions in 1966, 1970 and 1973. All three versions can be considered authentic, but not definitive. Also, there are many edited editions of Stone Sleeper, but these editions, aside from two exceptions, to a greater or lesser extent, do not follow the last auctorial will of the poet, i.e. the final form of Stone Sleeper which was given to the book by its author just before his death.
