Some Peculiarities in Defining the Notion of Contract

Summary/Abstract: In the present article some peculiarities of the notion of contract are being analyzed– those which are fundamental and have been preserved till nowadays and others which reflect its contemporary development. Special attention is drawn to the legal definition according to the Bulgarian law, and some critical notes to it and the definition of the author is presented. The contemporary development of the social relations leads to enrichment with new characteristics of the notion of contract which pursue different goals - to protect the weaker party, to ensure the speed of the civil and commercial exchange, etc.
