Summary/Abstract: Despite great progress in many diseases treatment and increasingly more advanced technical means, medicine unfortunately still remains helpless in confrontation with some illnesses. Many of them remain incurable. The situation in case of suicides looks differently. In this case we do not remain helpless. Therefore, it is important to search for effective means of self-aggression prevention. It is important to find out about complex etiology of suicidal behaviors in order to effectively help in those crisis situations. Each of them is a loud, though usually hidden, cry for help. The Catholic Church is engaged in suicide prevention. It is realized through the affirmation of human life and not only in her teaching but also in her activity both ministerial and through numerous emergency aid centers. She cooperates with various lay institutions and centers in order to provide the most effective prevention.
