Summary/Abstract: This study aims to analyze the internal consequences of the disputes between Romanian and Hungarian historians. The research consists in the valorisation of documents belonging to to Andrei Oțetea, regarding the involvement of Romanian historians in the events dedicated to the historiographic reassessment of the nationalities question in the Habsburg Empire, as well as the causes that led to the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The conferences were organized in particular in the academic centers within the communist bloc. The sources refer to those held in Budapest and Prague, from the first half of the decade, so that of the decade, so that interest in these major themes determine the organization of a conference at Bloomington in 1966. The notes prepared by Andrei Oțetea, referring to the presence of Romanian historians in debates abroad, develop a much narrower universe that focuses on the idea of “confrontation”. It certainly suggests the existence of stakes in admitting and combating Hungarian theses. The problem concerns us more from the perspective of the transformation produce in the internal historiographic environment, using the Hungarian superiority in the actions of imposing theses contrary to the Romanian ones in the debates with historians of the capitalist world.
