Summary/Abstract: The use of internationalisms is characteristic for the scientific lexicon in general. These are primarily the words of Greek and Latin origin, although today,internationalisms also include words that entered English, that is, Serbian dictionary from other, most often European languages, as well. In this paper, we will especially pay attention to the peculiarities of internationalisms that entered modern, English and Serbian, languages mainly from Greek, Latin and Hebrew. The analysis was carried out on the corpus of theological academic papers, with a special emphasis on internationalism in the scientific general and narrowly professional terminology, in the works of academic or scientific proper substyle in English and Serbian languages.In addition, the results of the statistical analysis conducted on the corpus of eighteen theological works of scientific proper, scientific-educational and scientific-popular substyles were also included, which, among other things brings the peculiarities of internationalisms in the scientific-educational and scientific-popular theological works, as well. ▶ Key words: functional stylistics, theological scientific papers, internationalisms, scientific proper substyle, general scientific terminology, nomenclatures
