Summary/Abstract: Vladimir Trofimovich Zolotnitskii (ca. 1741–after 1796) was a military man and civil servant, who authored and translated several works, particularly in his early years. His views concentrated on morality. He distinguished three natural duties: to God, to oneself, and to others, and discussed them in some detail. His proofs for the immortality of the soul are interesting, particularly the proof based on the perfect goodness of God, since, although not entirely original, they appear to be among the first proofs discussed in Russian literature.
