Summary/Abstract: By leafing through some acts belonging to my great-grandfather, I discovered contracts of sale, concluded almost a century ago. All of them contain a clause referring to art. 934 ABGB on laesio enormis. My presentation will focus on the application of this text in Romanian Transylvania, making the connection with its Roman origins: the Roman solution, how was it received by the Austrian civil code? What was the extent of its practical application? Can we speak of a truly reception?
