Summary/Abstract: By analysing perfective verbs derived by virtue of the po- prefix, the author attempts at proving the hypothesis stating that perfectiveness implies telicity not being valid in terms of Serbian. In order to prove this, the author first deals with the semantics of the aforementioned prefix, and then shows that the ‘+telic’ feature found in some verbs derived by means of this prefix is not integrated in its semantics, but is rather a result of some inferential deduction.
