Summary/Abstract: Contemporary society goes through a state of adaptation to the actual realities in which professional and personal relationships run at an alert pace, against time, and the emergence of conflicts or misunderstandings becomes a certainty. Therefore, mediation and negotiation are indispensable at this time, as it seeks the best ways to resolve disputes/conflicts amicably. Mediation is a transformation at a mentality level and represents a major advance of civilization as the parties involved want to freely adopt the most appropriate decisions. Negotiation is the fundamental instrument for human cooperation. It consists of the mechanism of exchanging recommendations in order to find the best mutually beneficial solutions or to resolve a misunderstanding or conflict without adversely affecting both the parties involved, as well as the rest of the people. Therefore, mediation represents assisted negotiation.
