SOCIAL SERVICE PROGRAMS BY FATİH MUNICIPALITY

Summary/Abstract: This study was conducted in order to examine the social service practices of Fatih Municipality of Istanbul and to evaluate them in the light of the findings. In this study, Fatih Municipality has been chosen as the application area. Fatih Municipality is very important because it has characteristic features that can represent the country in general and can provide many general inferences. According to the results of the study; municipalities have expanded their social service practices and tried to reach every segment of the society. Social municipality development has also been ensured by increasing the shares allocated from the budgets and applying a people-oriented approach. However, we cannot say that these structures are sufficient and the municipalities have provided everything at an exemplary level. At this point, the concept of social municipality should continuously develop along with the ever-changing living conditions and municipalities should carry out the necessary studies to increase the living standards including all citizens.
