CORRUPTION – MAJOR CAUSE AND RESULT OF POVERTY

Summary/Abstract: A global pandemic or deadly virus can cause millions of people to die in states where the medical system is not functioning. Poverty also generates corruption, a phenomenon that for some states generates criminal offenses globally such as: drug trafficking, sexual slavery, smuggling activities, piracy, arms trafficking, illicit business with hazardous waste. The vulnerability of these states is thus exploited by the transnational crime syndicates, thus making a theater for the development of terrorist cells financed with money obtained from these criminal activities.
