Summary/Abstract: The paper presents and discusses within a preliminary typology, the most frequent coarse ware types discovered during the excavations of a Roman edifice from the settlement at Acic Suat, Tulcea County. The fragments originate from both wheel and hand-made pots, as well as casseroles, pans and lids. Although not the most spectacular ceramic category, the coarse ware can offer information about the local economy in terms of trade and local productions, the dietary preferences of the people using it, and last but not least, in particular cases, the presence of certain ethnic groups within a community, in our case, the Getae.
