Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the processes of allonym development, that is, forms of proper names of foreign origin. Their existence is a result of different ways through which the same onomastic unit (through mediator language) is linked to Serbian onomastics. Unless this unit is recognized, there is a danger of different forms of the same unit being treated as entirely contrastive onomastic units.
