Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with so-called electoral stalemate, a situation when a stable majority government cannot be crated as a consequence of results of the parliamentary elections. Attention is paid to particular constitutional and para-constitutional mechanisms to solve electoral stalemate issue that can be found in the constitutional system of the Slovak Republic. The paper is accompanied by a brief reflection de constitutione ferenda, which are also applicable in a wider context, not only in the Slovak Republic.
