Summary/Abstract: This paper proposes an approach between the dramatic work of Emil Ivănescu and the movies directed by Harold S. Bucquet and Lars von Trier – On Borrowed Time 1939, respectively Melancholia 2011 – from an axiological point of view. The dissolution of the concept of value proves to be a process that starts in the modern period and reaches its climax in postmodernity. Between the modern worldview of Emil Ivănescu, which declines the transcendental imagery of Harold S. Bucquet, and the postmodern representation of the individual, by Lars von Trier, it is noticeable a progressive fall of the shared values.
