Legal regulations concerning the Eucharistic celebration by the priest addicted to alcohol

Summary/Abstract: This article is devoted to the analysis of legal norms concerning the Eucharistic celebration and the receive communion by the priest addicted to alcohol. The research material constitute primarily documents issued by the Apostolic See. Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith allowed priests who are saddled with alcoholism to celebrate the Mass and use mustum as an valid Eucharist’s matter. They also can receive Holy Communion in two ways: by immersion (per intinctionem) or only in the species of bread. The ordinary give permission to use of mustum for an individual priest.
