Summary/Abstract: This study is an attempt to shed light on the relation between logic and linguistics seen through the prism of modality. In the last thirty years modality has been a challenge studied not only by leading representatives of linguistics but many other scientific disciplines, especially logicians. We will try to show what binds logic and linguistics in modality and what separates them.
