Summary/Abstract: Corporate social responsibility as a mainstream concept in modern management is mainly based on integration of social responsibility into business operations through smart investments in new technologies, human resources and projects, and should ultimately benefit all concerned. When we look at libraries and library management in this context, it is important to note that this paper treats public libraries as just one of many public services whose legal, social and scientific status, as well as their standards of professional conduct and code of ethics, dictate that they must act in a socially responsible manner. Public libraries serve diverse categories of users and this presents broad opportunities for potential action, service improvements and integration into the local community.
