Summary/Abstract: For over two decades, through various projects and programs, the Prijepolje Library, has managed to make its function of a local cultural institution, gradually becoming a local “Community” center, that is the maximum beneficial for the citizens of this undeveloped municipality in Sandzak. The Library invested its expertise and resources, as well as funds through projects, and created several important and sustainable projects throught which it accompished its responsible mission: Providing library-information services to the residents of the municipality through the work of the Mobile informative and communicative centre Info Bus (MICC InfoBus). Its mission is to provide a free access to information, knowledge and modern communication technology for as many people of rural population as possible. Digitalization of the cultural heritage of the wider area (Prijepolje Digital Library) contributes to the affirmation of all the identities of this three-border region (Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina) in long-term, and this cultural good is available to everyone. This Library, through modern technological tools and creative encouragement activities of citizens for acquiring new knowledge, developing civic capacities, is daily putting efforts to improve some segment of the lives of people in the Prijepolje region.
