Summary/Abstract: Interest in alternative dispute resolution methods, and thus the mediation institution itself, occurred along with system transformations at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s and with theinitiation of integration processes with the European Communities. Currently, in many Europeancountries, one of the main elements of the government's unit dispute resolution programs withpublic authorities is the process of resolving the dispute between the individual and theadministration through mediation. The project promoters, noticing the problems occurring inadministrative proceedings: their excessive length, sometimes excessive or improperlyunderstood formalism and the imperative nature of the relationship, proposed solutions that areto contribute to a more partnership approach of the administration to citizens and guarantee theparticipation of the public in administering administrative powers. Non-confrontationalmediation way to settle the matter with the participation of an impartial and neutral mediator.
