Summary/Abstract: This article presents legal and factual considerations concerning traffic incidents with animals.Thousands of animals die every year on roads in Poland. Both small and large ones. How exactly– it's hard to count. When traveling by car, often driving through a forest and fields, peopleshould pay attention to animals. Unfortunately, there are tragic consequences of traffic incidentswith wild animals. Animals are killed on the roads mostly in spring and autumn – this is a timeof reproduction and a mating period of many of them. Animals often migrate at considerabledistances. Every year, due to traffic incidents of vehicles with animals, on the roads, about 10000 animals are killed, and people are injured. The article provides an analysis of road incidentsinvolving animals, an analysis of the applicable legal situation in this regard and the principle ofliability for damages on the grounds of these events.
