Summary/Abstract: Augmented reality is a technology that enables the incorporation of virtual content within a real environment offering the ability to “revive” immobile images in reality via mobile devices and tablets. This technology augments reality by allowing real time objects to be displayed together with virtual objects. Unlike virtual reality, augmented reality technology uses non-virtual environment that is expanded with a computer-generated content. In the “ArcheoReality” workshop, augmented reality technology will be used for creation of computer-generated annotation for archeological findings. At the same time, the findings will be visually enriched with an educational component prepared in video format. The free app hpReveal (https://www.hpreveal.com/) uses smartphone or tablet camera to recognize an image from a real environment, which it then overlays in video format.
