Summary/Abstract: The article examines the Slavic compilation Сказанїе w арменскои ереси “Tale about the Armenia”preserved in Ms Slav. 461 ( ff. 378r – 379v), a Nomocanon from the manuscript collection of the Romanian Academy, written in 1651, in Bistrica, by hierodeacon Efrem. The linguistic evidence, the absence of South-Slavic copies and the position of the Tale among the Russian supplements in canon law miscellanies suggest that its provenance was most probably Russian. Identical Byzantine text has not been founded yet, but even if it is an original Slavic work, the analysis of the Tale shows its strong connection with the Byzantine tradition of anti-Armenian polemics.
