Summary/Abstract: The article refers to a comment in the Russian publication Novaia gazeta, regarding the fact that the soprano Svetlana Casyan was bestowed the title of Dame Grand Cross of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of Saint Sylvester by Pope Francis. A world-renowned artist, Svetlana Kasyan was famous as an activist for women’s rights, traditional family and anti-abortion movement.
