Summary/Abstract: Aurel Stodola was an engineer and inventor. He developed the study of thermodynamics and other scientific fields. He was a professor at the Institute of Technology in Zurich (ITZ), specialist for the introduction and development of the gas turbine. He has educated and influenced hundreds of engineers, including some of the greatest scientific minds (e.g. Albert Einstein) and engineers (e.g. Dorin Pavel). He invented the first heat pump. He published a highly acclaimed manual „Dampf- und Gasturbinen”. Dorin Pavel was colleague of physicist Albert Einstein through Aurel Stodola and ITH. Franz Prášil was an engineer and inventor. He was a Professor of ITZ. He developed the liquid flowing in totational cavitiers. He has as students Albert Einstein and Dorin Pavel. He was the doctoral director for Dorin Pavel Doctoral Dissertation. He advocated for for academic freedom and study extension.Albert Einstein was a physicist, philosopher of science, inventor, science writer, professor and educator. He was enrolled in the diploma mathematics and physics at the Polytechnic in Zurich, having as Professors Aurel Stodola and Franz Prášil. He graduated ITZ in 1900 and worked as examiner of Patents at Patent Office in Switzerland. Got the title Doctor of Physics at the University of Zurich in 1905 with the dissertation „Eine neue Bestimmung der Moleküldimensionen” (A new determination of molecular dimensions). He obtained the position of professor of theoretical physics at the ITZ between 1912- 1914. In 1921 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics „for services to theoretical physics and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect.”. It brought many essential contributions in physics. The most famous formula E = mc²Einstein is. He kept a vivid memory of ITZ professors through engineering education he received. Dorin Pavel was an engineer, inventor, professor, hydrotechnician, and academician. He got a scholarship for Faculty of Electromechanics, Technische Hochschulle Zurich, ITZ, where he was taught by Aurel Stodola and Franz Prášil. Professor Franz Prášil in 1922, assigned him to write a report on „theoretical and practical analysis of patents ... of regulating turbines mechanisms”. After Report he was offered position of instructor at ITZ. Possible Professor Stodola could tell him, Einstein was an ITZ student. The diploma project was „a new type turbine (Kaplan) with theory and calculation method known” (Prášil guided)and the end of May 1923 was an diplomat engineer. He was appointed assistant professor at the Federal Polytechnic, in June 1923, starting work on doctorate under the same direction. Completed issertation „Ebene Potentialeströmungen durch Gitter und Kreselräder” in 1925. In his work remembered often study from ITZ and his teachers. He was involved in all hydraulic and hydroelectric projects in Romania, 1925 –1979, with little gratitude to his life. As professor he educated 47 generations.
