Summary/Abstract: The paper has been conceived in the form of considerations on theprocess of research preparation and realization based on the in-depth interview as aresearch method. In the broader context of criticism levelled at qualitative research methods, all the phases related to data compilation and the phases of work doneon the compiled material have been described and explained. An attempt has been made to use a specific example to point out all the principles which guide research and analysis, how researchers uses reflective research and the arguments in favorof certain choices, how systematicity is achieved, and to provide illustrations of the complexity and scientific relevance of research procedures in the creation of a highquality database. In addition, a discussion has been provided on the scientific basisof the entire process of database creation and the analytical procedures involved in working on it.
