Summary/Abstract: After the fall of man, we have come to see emotionally, that is, the image we see is influenced by our inner experiences. The sight can be distorted by the inner experiences, being closely related to them. Our perception is in fact a reflection of our state, of our emotions. At the same time, the vision is influenced by our innate aptitudes, some people being more inclined towards beautiful things, towards the artistic side, and by our personal history, by who and what we are, but also by the culture to which we belong. Images have a stronger impact than words. Images are food for the soul. Our ability to concentrate is fragmented due to the large number of images inundating the eye. There are several types of sight. The highest type is the spiritual sight. The spiritual eyes of the mind open the horizon to another perception, that of the reality of the kingdom. Fasting, prayer, vigil are the means of cleansing the heart, but the sight must also be accustomed to a certain ascesis. Without God’s grace we do not see, even if we see, but we do not see the world as God created it, as it is in reality, but we perceive only partial realities, as we see them from the perspective of our sins and passions.
