Summary/Abstract: St. Elizabeth Church in Niezdów mentioned in sources between 1721 and 1781, was a small wooden object with a shingled roof, pulled down after 1781. The chapel was located a few hundred meters south of the present day buildings of the village of Niezdów. Until 1774 the dead from the Opole parish were buried in the cemetery next to the church. The localization of the church appeared to be on the way of the newly designed Opole Lubelskie bypass. In April 2013 I informed Lublin Voivodeship Office for Protection of Monuments about the probable localization of the church. From October 2013 to March 2014 during roadworks the remnants of the cemetery, probably church foundations, and over 150 graves form the 17th and 18th centuries were discovered. The lack of deep historical research while preparing the investment caused huge delays in works of building Opole Lubelskie bypass, additional costs, and, most of all, a destruction of the remnants of the church and cemetery.
