Summary/Abstract: The paper summarises the situation of OER in Germany. An analysis of the scope of acceptance, use and implementation of the concept in educational institutions and policy, as well as an overview of the major actors and initiatives in the field of OER is presented. In addition, considerations about the concept of Open Educational Practices (OEP) and possible benefits for educational institutions are suggested.
