Summary/Abstract: Historically it developed so that some Croatian Glagolitic monuments are kept outside Croatia, mostly in Russia, in libraries of Saint-Petersburg and Moscow. Besides Russia, Glagolitic monuments can be found in depositories in 18 countries of the world. There is a certain number of Glagolitic manuscripts in almost every European country like Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, and Ukraine. Outside Europe they can be found in New York, Princeton, and Constantinople. We should also take into account monuments of the rounded Glagolitic alphabet of the 11th c. kept in Sinai, in St. Catherine's Monastery. Practically all the monuments are taken stock of, but not all of them have been described, and not all of the existing descriptions have been published. Most often it is descriptions of individual monuments that appear in print, less often - descriptions by depositories, and even less often - combined descriptions of Glagolitic monuments in one country (Austria). Because of the large number of Glagolitic manuscripts kept outside Croatia, it would be desirable to compile a joint catalogue of all known Glagolitic monuments by combined efforts of scholars involved in Glagolitic studies.
