The Cyrillo-Methodian Bibliography in Electronic Form: Database Structure and Search Resources

Summary/Abstract: The paper describes the stages of a project, which provides a conversion from the traditional form of the Cyrillo-Methodian bibliography to an electronic one on the basis of software CDS/ISIS. The solutions of the basic problems with reference to the bibliographic database are presented: structure of bibliographic records, range and character of the data; arrangement of materials in the print edition, kinds of indexes; creating of bibliographic descriptions with diacritical marks and letters, different from the Standard Cyrillic and Standard Latin sets. The work page fields in the database are pointed out and if needed their function is interpreted. The structure of the dictionary and the E-lib modes of search suggested by the system are described.
