Summary/Abstract: Looking at the history of Falanga from the perspective of historical production research, the author asks a question about the business strategy that enabled Falanga to take hegemonic position on the film market. He argues that the company developed in line with its organic development strategy, also using a niche strategy and competitive advantage strategy. Accurate diagnosis of the specifics and needs of the film market, high quality of services, careful and thoughtful investment decisions made Falanga the most important market player in the 1930s, which significantly exceeded the service side of the company based on renting a production hall space for filming and laboratory tape processing. The author demonstrates that Falanga occupied a key place in the system of dispersed film financing in Poland, and was at the same time – despite the fact that it did not formally produce any feature film – the most important Polish (co) film producer.
